Our teen
boys took on Bryan Sherman’s men’s basketball group and had a good time playing
for two special causes. Each basket made
earned dollars toward their team’s cause.
As a result of their efforts $50.00 has been sent to Salvation Army and
$70.00 has been sent to the Presbyterian Haiti Relief. Thanks guys!
Interviews: “Why do
you come to Wednesday night Youth Group?”
►Wendy
(age 18): It is fun. I enjoy it and it
is not boring
►Alyssa
(age15): At first I just agreed to come
but I really like it.
►Anya
(age 16): I come for friends and to
learn about God and the Bible.
“How has Second’s group helped you?”
►Wendy: It makes me feel good, reassured for the
week. The church is nice and
friendly. I have gone to 3 or 4
youth groups but this is my favorite,
►Alyssa: This is an accepting place. People here do not care about my past. I have only been coming for 3 weeks, but it
is helping me figure out what I believe.
►Anya: I have learned about myself, what is
important, and what not to take for granted.

Our
Prayer Books were finished and passed out to our congregation on February 14th . If
you did not get a copy let Linda know and we will be sure you receive one. Thank you for telling members of our
congregation about you. There were great thoughts shared, and know that many
people will be praying for you. Cool
huh!
It was disappointing that the snow ruined our trip to the Christian rock concert Winter Jam, one of our Wednesday night gatherings and February’s skating party. Remember anytime Newark Schools close our programs are cancelled for that day. Hang on….spring is coming!
Congratulations and thanks go to Brad, David, Scott, and Anthony for representing Second Presbyterian Church youth in Bowl for the Cure at Park Lanes this past month. Our youth mission funds sponsored their participation which resulted in a $120.00 donation to help in the fight against cancer. And our guys won the tournament! I even heard something about Scott donating his winnings back to the cause! Thanks Brandie and George Wentworth for serving as our coordinators for this event.
Reminder: Swim for Diabetes
takes place on Sunday, February 28th at the Licking County
Y.M.C.A. Our youth volunteers are to be
at the Y by 1:15 and will wrap up around 5:15.
Thanks to our four teens who signed up to help.

Our New Start Shower …
is wrapping up. We will
not likely ever know who receives our gift, but because of your contributions
to this project one young man returning to our community will feel God’s love
and know that there are those who care.
If you haven’t brought in your item, please do so right away so that we
can deliver our overflowing basket in early March.

Wow!!!! Our pretzel sales were great. Sarah Fenton did all of our shopping and preparations and then showed other teens how to make these great treats. Even with the bad weather on February 7th we sold out of the first batch that week. Since we had no Youth Group due to bad weather on Wednesday the 10th Sarah herself made our second batch to sell on Valentines Day. These sales earned approximately $250.00 for our Youth Mission Account. Great job! Maybe we will do it again for Easter.
Acolyte recognition took place on Sunday, February 14th. Thank you to all of you for helping with this
ministry!
Acolytes: Logan Anderson, Abigayle Barker,
Alex Brennan, Andrea Fenton, David Fenton, Hunter Jones, Stephenie
Jones, Shelby Wills, Taylor Wills.

was going to be great fun, but the snow got us again! Hopefully March will be better. The next party is on Monday, March 15th. Youth, please see Bill or Sue Milbrandt in the front of the rink between 6:15 and 6:30 to
receive your admission fee. As always
bring money if you wish to rent speed or inline skates or buy refreshments.
Have
you ever taken time to look in our church library? It is a great library with books, videos, and
reference materials for all ages. The
children’s books have been moved to a different place on the shelves. Go in to see if you can find them. If not, ask for help.
Our sign up for
the New Wilmington Missions Conference is wrapping up. Did you forget? See Linda soon because we will begin filling
out our registration forms soon. Anyone
attending with our group must turn in their forms here to the church in
order to have the cost covered by our Youth Mission Account.
